Challenge of Julian Assange to Senator

Today’s news is occupied by the report of Wikileaks.
Mr. Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks has launched a new political party entitled “Wikileaks Party”. He also prepares to be a candidate of Senator in Australia.

Wikileaks Party has transparency as an ideology. Mr. Assange is also concerned about the issue of refuge. They are quite suitable to his position and biography. On the other hand, it is interesting that he is trying to enter the political world with the means of general election. I considered that he was an anarchist. Indeed, the USA deems him as a high-tech terrorist.

He stays at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Of course he has to move to Australia to take his own seat of the Senate. However, The British government seems to arrest him for the allegation against him of rape in Sweden, if he leaves the Ecuadorean Embassy. So his political activity cannot be realistic.
Wikileaks is fielding 6 candidates other than Mr. Assange to get the seats in the next election in Sep. 2013. If Mr. Assange cannot go back to Australia, Other candidates will have to play a more important role. But they are not well known compared to Mr. Assange. Furthermore, Mr. Assange is hard to get along with. They were quarreling among themselves in the past. I think the way to the seats for Wikileaks is quite severe.
