Naming matter with games or other

It is a sequential story from yesterday.
I also pay attention to some naming of gadgets.

The name 'iPad' was criticized in some people as an inappropriate name, for 'pad' reminded you a sanitary napkin. There are several jokes around its naming.

Another giant of IT world, Nintendo named a new product 'Wii' in 2006. This was a computer gaming machine with some innovative features. Nintendo must consider that the name 'Wii' resembles to the word 'We'. However, I heard a rumor that this naming was not appropriate because 'Wii' was similar to the word 'Pee'. I do not know how many citizens in the US were conscious about it. It is difficult to imagine the response of the people in foreign countries.

The X-Box series by Microsoft are also named a little strangely.
The first product was 'X-Box' itself. Then, Microsoft named the succeeding one 'X-Box 360', not 'X-Box 2'. It may be to compete to 'Play Station 3' by Sony. However, I cannot understand why the third product was named as 'X-Box One'. Microsoft says that all entertainments will be accompanied to X-Box one. If so, what is the name of the next one? X-Box One 360?

Nowadays, naming is a global issue. After creating a product, we have to consider how making it be accepted in all over the world. If the naming is cool in Japanese, it is possible that the same name was hated in the USA or another country. It is quite sensitive matter.

To naming a child, we should be conscious, especially to be concerned about China. It is very possible for our children to work in China in the future. If I name a child, I will give him or her a nice name that is acceptable also in China.
